An average Google search to complete a task inside the web platform, like form validation, turns up a multitude of results using a wide variety of add-on technologies to the Web. These include pure JavaScript, jQuery plugins, PHP libraries, and include catchy phrases: the 'best', 'ultimate', to name a few.

However, the web moves fast! HTML5 has added a variety of useful, evolving standards (including form validation). Today, developers targeting modern browsers - or via polyfills for older browsers - can short-circuit many traditional boilerplate tasks: being more productive with incredibly useful and standardised building blocks.

This talk will showcase the absolute best of HTML on desktop and mobile. These are the technologies that don't always come up first in search results (much to the frustration of the Chrome DPE team). We'll talk about the features that should be in every modern developer's toolbox: Web Animations, modern CSS, interactive HTML elements, not to mention Web Components, and more.
